Examples of Web ReportViewer with Remote Processing
ReportViewer. Every attempt to do it ourselves has failed to render.
We have a number of examples of local processing in Web pages. Heck, we
even have built a number of Windows Forms applications that use both local
and remote processing. But we cannot find anything that will cause ASP.Net
to render.
Is it possible that using the Viewer in this case does not work?

Everyday Wirelessdoes your RS and ReportViewer server are on 2 different servers?
and do you use the NTLM authentication?
if yes, you suffer Kerberos issue, search on the MS web site to know how to
setup it.
can you send the the code of your ASPX page which contains the control?

Evict cluster node BEFORE running SQL setup
the cluster i.e. before running the SQL setup and removing the failed node
from SQL and cleaniing the SQL binaries.
What would the best way to proceed?
Can the SQL setup be run after the node has been evicted?
(The intent here is to rebuild the failed node and rejoin the cluster).
Thanks
Staffy
Yes. This scenario is documented in BOL under the index topic Failover
Clustering, recovering from a failover clustering failure. Your situation
fits into scenario 1. You will likely get a lot of errors when you remove
the failed node, but that is normal. The SQL installer is trying to update
that node and it cannot. When you are done, you should see only one node
allowed for the SQL resource group in the Cluster Administrator tool.
If you reuse the server name and IP address, make sure and clean it out of
Active Directory before you attempt to add the rebuilt node back to the
domain. I have seen some wierd behavior because of "tombstoned" entries in
AD.

I keep getting the follwoing error message .
I tried running SQL profiler to see what is causing this error.
I found osql-32 as client trying to login to SQL server.
Could not find any process named osql-32 in the task manager.
My computer is not on any network. It runs Road runner.
Is there any way to trace this problem ?

Event Log and SQL Server Agent
When I boot me server up, I always get an alert that says at least one
service or driver failed. I checked all of the logs in the event viewer.
The error is in the Application log. When I look at the properties of the
error I get a dialog box that has the description "Unable to read the
eventlog (Reason: The event log has changed between read operations). The
Source is SQLSERVERAGENT, the Category is Alert Engine, and the Event ID is
318.
How do I resolve this problem? What can I do to prevent getting this Alert
message and get this fixed?
Thanks,
KeithThat's nothing to worry about.
That message isn't the service failing to start, have a look in Event Viewer
(System). This is more likely to contain the service that's failing.

original message I describe below is of type Error with an X in a red

message' in the following manner.
In Control Services :-
Set the startup of SQLServerAgent and MSSQLServer to Manual
Stop both services
Clear all 3 Event Logs.
Reboot the Server.
The SQL Services are now not trying to start, if the Service didn't start
message appears it definalty hasn't come from SQL.
Alternitavly, Control Panel / Servcies.
Look at every service, ensure those with a Startup Type of AutoMatic are
all Status = Started.
If you have any Automatic starters that are not Started -- bingo...

I get this error in My Event Log on My WSUS server. I am running a Windows 2000 with SQL 2K SP4.
Connection to database failed. Reason=Cannot open database requested in login 'SUSDB'. Login fails. Login failed for user 'WSUS\ASPNET'.. Connection string: Data Source=WSUS;Initial Catalog=SUSDB;Connection Timeout=60;Application Name=WSUS SQL Connection; Trustedd_Connection=Yes;Pooling='true'; Max Pool Size = 100
The web account does not have access to sqlserver. Run the following to enable access.
--allow connection to sqlserver
exec sp_grantlogin 'WSUS\ASPNET'
go
--change to the database you want to give access
use <db>
go
--allow database connection
exec sp_grantdbaccess 'WSUS\ASPNET'
go
I suggest you take a look at these stored procedures in book online. Also, take a look at "sp_addsrvrolemember" and "sp_addrolemember".

Just make sure you got the latest security updates --run security baseline

If somebody is doing a attack(SQL injection) you should see multiple login

Event ID: 17055 Source: MSSQLSERVER Type: Information Login failed
SQL2000 database. Every so often I get the above mentioned event in the
App. log accompanied by a error reported by the users browser stating
that the login failed for IUSR_xxxxxx. If I log into the server having
the problem and log out the problem resolves itself. I tried using
Profiler to see if I could see any odd activity and there was no
activity what so ever while the problem persisted. Once the problem
corrected by the login/logout I saw normal activity resume in Profiler.
The only this I noticed different after the login/logout fix was that
the network protocol: Named Pipes actioned appeared to be showing up in
Profiles where it was not before. I have checked all my permissions and
everything seems to be in order(especially since the login/logout seems
to resolve it). Any ideas as to what is causing this?
Thank you in advance,

Structured Business SystemsBased upon your description, it sounds like you're requesting a Windows
Authenticated connection from the web server, and
it is authenticating using the IUSR account. This account doesn't exist on
the SQL Server , so it fails.
If you then login to the server using Named Pipes, you've authenticated
yourself and any new sessions will piggy-back on this.
If you then check for successfull logins at the server, does it show that
IUSR connected successfully or your domain account?
These two articles may give you a better understanding as well.

This posting is provided AS IS with no warranties, and confers no rights.|||Kevin,
I already had added the IUSR account to SQL and gave it permissions on
the database. Any pages on the site that do not require a connection to
the database are fine, it is only those ASP pages that connect to the
database that are having this problem. When I use Profiler I can see
that the IUSR account has no problems logging in when there is no
problem, but once the problem occurs the IUSR account activity stops and
is replaced by the NT AUTHORITY/ANONYMOUS or something like that.
I think I may have resolved this issue already, but I am keeping an eye
on it. I forgot to mention earlier that the database in question is
accessing data on a linked server also, and I think that may have been
the source of my problem. We had recently installed a new server (server
B) with a different host name from the original. Server A is where the
website and it's database exist and server B is where the database with
additional data exists (it is the primary db for another site). I added
the old server b's host name to DNS to hopefully eliminate and potential
problems, but that may not have been the case. I have since removed all
linked servers and remote servers and recreated them in both instances
of SQL using the correct host name and am using the sa account to
authenticate between them. Does that sound like it could have been the
source of the problem?
Thank you for your response,
Ethan Cottrell

I am running a WSUS and get this error in my event log. I am running Windows 2000 with SQL 2K SP4.
1827
CREAR/ALTER DATABASE failed because the resulting cumulative database size would exceed you licensed limit of 2048MB per database.
2 GB is the data size limit for SQL 2000 MSDE databases. You will need a higher end edition to have a larger database.
Event ID: 17053 - Operating system error 112(error not found) encountered
Hi there
I have recently installed a new server for a client running SBS2003 R2 with SQLServer 2005.
I noted that the backup failed the SQL Server database on the consistenty check. On checking the event log I see this message as per above.
It reads in the description
c:\data\law\sqldata\data41_Data.MDF:MSSQL_DBCC6:
Operating system error 112(error not found) encountered.
Looking in the error log I see :
Configuration option 'user options' changed from 0 to 0. Run the RECONFIGURE statement to install.
Error: 17053, Severity: 16, State: 1.
C:\Data\LAW\sqldata\data41_Data.MDF:MSSQL_DBCC6: Operating system error 112(error not found) encountered.
DBCC CHECKDB (data41) WITH no_infomsgs executed by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM found 0 errors and repaired 0 errors. Elapsed time: 0 hours 0 minutes 26 seconds.
This is a new server with about 90% of disk space NTFS still available
Any idea's thanks.
Error 112 means there is not enough space on disk. The system uses sparse file and alternate data stream for its dbcc operation. Look like your C:\ drive does not have enough disk space - you need at least the same amount as the original database.
|||Hi Thanks for the reply.
The server is new with sbs2003 r2 with about 65Gb free space on C:\ so it can't be not enough free space. The database is not very big..
Any more idesa's ![]()
Thanks
Stephen
|||If your sql service is running under any service account then check necessary NTFS privilege for the folder you have mentioned above for that service account.|||If the service account can't see/get to the disk (doesn't matter if it's empty or not), it will generate error.
Try setting the service account for sqlserver as LocalSystem and try creating the db again.

event ID for windows (trusted) authentication and failed ones as well?
I am wondering what I should look for, in the events logs (I have the
security audit enabled to log to event logs) for successful and not
successful connections using windows authentication ?
does anybody know ?If successful or not and if using Windows or SQL logins,
they all log to the application event log under the same
event id of 17055

same message. Login failed for user <user name>. - <user name>.
We use mixed mode authentification. The MSSQL server service has the
correct password and the SQL server agent too.
The user account isn't lock and we have others SQL server that use the
same account and the others servers don't send the error message.
I need help, I'm still troubleshooting but If you any ideas. Can you
help me.

Try using the SQL Profiler and determine what process, computer etc. is
attempting to log on.
