With a SQL2000 EM installed on an XP pro client, we are getting 2 entries
every 12 seconds in the security log on each server registered and connected.
This is despite audit being set to failure only. This makes the logs
virtually unusable for analysis purposes. We do not have this problem with
the same EM client on NT4 sp6. Can anyone advise if it is possible to stop
this constant logging?
Try turning off the polling of the services that is turned
on by default in Enterprise Manager.
In Enterprise Manager, go to the menu to Tools, select
Options. On the General Tab, remove the check for Server
State Polling.
