Event log 17055 errors

Hey guys,
I'm running sql server2000 enterprise with SP4. All of a sudden, I am
getting 17055 errors (Category 2 and 6). Here are samples:
Event Type:Error
Event Source:MSSQLSERVER
Event Category:(6)
Event ID:17055
Date:5/21/2007
Time:4:15:09 AM
User:N/A
Computer:SQL1
Description:
3041 :
BACKUP failed to complete the command BACKUP DATABASE [ZENworks] TO
VIRTUAL_DEVICE='{9EBA7F59-A3DE-4007-8D1C-7BA920CD8642}' WITH SNAPSHOT
Event Type:Error
Event Source:MSSQLSERVER
Event Category:(2)
Event ID:17055
Date:5/21/2007
Time:4:15:09 AM
User:N/A
Computer:CCPSSQL1
Description:
18210 :
BackupVirtualDeviceFile::TakeSnapshot: failure on backup device
'{9EBA7F59-A3DE-4007-8D1C-7BA920CD8642}'. Operating system error 995(The I/O
operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application
request.).
At first I thought it was drive space issue, but there is plenty of space on
the backup volume. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Larry

Looking for the 995 error turns up a few instances such as
http://tinyurl.com/yqh2pr although there doesn't seem to be an absolute
reason/answer. Is there any indications of a problem with the devices earlier
in the event log? What does the SQL Server error log say?

Looking at other posts the most likely cause is third party backup software,
if you are using a product then you will need make sure you have the latest
patches and if the problems persist contact the vendor.
