eventlog

my system W2000+ SQL7.4
why I am getting 3 messages on the eventlog ?
Source: SQLServer/Agent
Category: Alret Engine
Event ID : 319
Unable to read local Event Log ( reason: The event log
file changed between read operation
Source: SQLServer/Agent
Category: Alret Engine
Event ID : 311
Attempting to to re-open the local eventlog..
Source: SQLServer/Agent
Category: Alret Engine
Event ID : 312
Successfully re-opened the local eventlog - NOSomeone cleared the event log and sql agent lost it's original handle to
that file and had to grab a new one. It's normal and nothing to worry
about.

Looking for the 995 error turns up a few instances such as
http://tinyurl.com/yqh2pr although there doesn't seem to be an absolute
reason/answer. Is there any indications of a problem with the devices earlier
in the event log? What does the SQL Server error log say?

Looking at other posts the most likely cause is third party backup software,
if you are using a product then you will need make sure you have the latest
patches and if the problems persist contact the vendor.

At first I thought it was drive space issue, but there is plenty of space on
the backup volume. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Event 697 on SQL2005 Servers

Hi,
We are seeing a tremendous amount of event 697 for the Account Management
category in Event Viewer Security on our SQL2005 servers. This seems to be
mainly for the account running MS SQL Server. The description is
Password Policy Checking API is called:
Any ideas why?
Thanks
ChrisYou've probably created SQL Server logins for which you specified SQL Server to enforce the password
policy specified in Windows.

each time an SQL Login connects or runs a query against the server? Its
always the account running SQL2005 that logs the event. Is that because its
SQL2005 that is checking the policy?
Thanks
